As a teacher I have met many children in my lifetime. Only a few have left a mark on my life. Most children have parents who can provide for them in the most essential matters...shelter, food, clothing. There are times, however, where parents can't, or don't provide for their own children.

Case in point...a little girl in my classroom was complaining of her feet hurting. Upon closer investigation I noticed that her toes were poking out of her shoes and she couldn't put her whole foot into her shoes because the shoe was too small.

I know this sounds like a really sad story but I would like to say that there are actually people in this world who are truly generous, altruistic people.

Several people stepped up to provide shoes, coats and clothing for this child. These generous people aren't those of excessive income; they are actually people who have little income. They are still willing to give what little they have to help those of lesser means.

As a result of these generous people and their contributions, my student was able to wear shoes, a coat, and clothing to make her more comfortable. So, this may have helped this child feel more comfortable in this cold weather situation; but it also gave this little girl a better attitude toward herseif. I personally witnessed this child in her new shoes, jacket and sweat suit. It gave her a new attitude. She had a much better attitude!

Just a note about humanity in a world where some people think there is none.
